Flat Back (Internally Threaded): Post length is 8mm, 1.1mm thick (fits 16 gauge). Screw Backs (with balls): Post length is 6mm, 0.9mm thick (fits 18 gauge). The balls are 4mm. Studs (with butterfly backs): Post length is 11mm, 0.7mm thick (fits 20 gauge). Materials and Care: These earrings are made with solid sterling silver and coated with either Rhodium or 18ct yellow gold. Both versions are anti-tarnish and hypoallergenic. Purchased as 'sleeper' earrings-sadly not suited

I have skin that heals piercings exceptionally fast, so have always slept with simple studs since the day I had them pierced. Some studs poke the back of the ear whilst sleeping. I thought the screw on ball back might work but sadly not. These are also far more fiddly than expected. Very pretty to wear occasionally l, but I'll stick to traditional butterfly backs until I can find some that work.
